Golf in Wellington really makes the most of the scenic location. You can drive off along a spectacular, rugged coastline, or around some beautiful valley landscapes. Most courses are a short drive from the CBD.  

Golf Courses in Wellington offer some excellent facilities, at friendly clubs. Up in Lower Hutt there are a couple of good courses around Boulcott, which take in the hills of the Hutt Valley. Along the coast, there are some excellent beach golf courses around Kapiti and Paraparaumu - don't forget the sun cream.   Many of Wellington's best courses are in the south and west of the region. There's a fantastic course full of scenic holes, at Karori, plus some equally spectacular greens down at Happy Valley and Mornington. Miramar has a very good links course for those who like a real challenge. You'll also find some superb equipment and apparel shops, which show you just how seriously Wellingtonians take their golf.
