Dragons Chinese Restaurant

Dragons Chinese Restaurant offers fine Chinese cuisine from the heart of downtown Wellington, just off Courtenay Place.

The restaurant is popular with locals and visitors alike, whether it be for a large gathering to celebrate a special occasion, a quiet dinner for two or a lunch date over Yum Cha.

The extensive menu features seasonal fish, live fresh seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes, sizzling hot plates and casserole dishes.  Specialities include Cantonese BBQ dishes from crispy Peking duck and BBQ pork with malt honey through to tasty traditional desserts such as steamed red bean buns and durian puffs.

During the day, Dragons offers a tasty Yum Cha menu. In fact, it is so tasty that the restaurant was voted best Yum Cha in Wellington in the Best Of awards by Capital magazine.  These traditional dim sum dishes are designed to be eaten in groups and washed down with Chinese tea.  All the Yum Cha at Dragons are handmade by the talented chefs and the menu includes both steamed and deep-fried options.

The drinks menu features a range of New Zealand wines supplied by Dhall & Nash Fine Wines and Asian wines, NZ beers including the locally brewed Garage Project range and international brews as well as a selection of teas.  Diners can also bring their own alcohol.

For large groups such as corporate events, Dragons has a special catering menu.
