Visit Te Papa – Aotearoa New Zealand’s national museum. Avoid the queue and book online. Only international visitors aged 16 and over need to buy a museum entry ticket. International visitors under the age of 16 are free, but they need a ticket. New Zealanders are free – no ticket is needed. This includes people living in New Zealand, and New Zealand citizens and residents living overseas.

  • At Te Papa, please have your ticket ready, either printed or on your device. On Level 2, show your ticket to a host near the tickets queue. Then walk past the queue and enjoy the museum! Please read the free entry policy before confirming your booking at - https://www.tepapa.govt.nz/visit/tickets-international-visitor-museum-entry Confirmation will be received at time of booking. Book tickets for international children even though entry is free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Te Papa is an accessible museum. Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other mobility vehicles can access most of Te Papa. Wheelchairs and a mobility scooter are available for free. Certified assisted dogs are welcome. You can explore Te Papa in New Zealand Sign Language.
