Description

Our guided small group tour starts in quaint Akaroa, a beautiful harbour village with a fascinating history and a 'fantastique' French vibe. From here, we cross the Canterbury Plains before entering the world famous Arthurs Pass National Park, a spectacular alpine region of lakes, rivers, and jagged mountains. Once across the 'great divide' and 'over on' the West Coast of the South Island, we drive as far north as we can, through small coastal settlements, swathes of ancient native forest and on past picturesque bays and lagoons before spending an optional day exploring fantastic limestone caves in the Kahurangi National Park. We then head inland alongside the impossibly turquoise waters of the Buller Gorge, capture the famous 'jetty scene' in Nelson Lakes National Park, before veering north to spend several days in remote Golden Bay and the extraordinary Abel Tasman National Park. Our last few days are spent in and around the magnificent Marlborough Sounds, before we board a ferry and cross the Cook Strait. We disembark in Wellington, New Zealand’s vibrant capital city at the bottom of the North Island.
